Verb Families Help

DOCUMENTATION: VERB FAMILIES

Click the 'Verb Families' tab .

The 'Verb Families' tab shows a list of approximately 90 known Spanish verb families . A 'verb family' is a group of verbs which are all conjugated in a similar manner . For example, the verb 'poner' (to put) is part of a 'family' that contains such verbs as 'oponer', 'yuxtaponer' and 'suponer' . All of these verbs are conjugated in a similary manner:

      PONER:
            Yo pongo . (I put.)
      SUPONER:
            Yo supongo . (I suppose.)
      OPONER:
            Yo opongo . (I oppose.)
      YUXTAPONER:
            Yo yuxtapongo . (I juxtapose.)

The browseable list of 'verb families' is intended for your informational and studying purposes . You may save the list of 'verb families' to a plain text file by clicking the 'Save To File' button in the 'Verb Families' section . Referring to the 'verb family' list periodically will greatly improve your Spanish vocabulary and speed up your learning of Spanish verb conjugation and grammar .

If you are running a Linux/Unix version of Pythoñol, and have an LRPng/LPR-based spooler system on your computer, you may print the list of 'verb families' by clicking 'File' -> 'Print...' on the Pythoñol main menu . (Sorry, Windows users!) See 'Help' --> 'Help...' on the menu for more information on printing in Pythoñol .

If you have the Festival text-to-speech extension installed and usable, you may hear the words pronounced by clicking the light blue 'Play' button, generally located to the left of your screen . Click 'Help' -> 'Festival Text-to-Speech Help...' on the menu for more information .
