My Online Resume     Home Page

I am a 31-year-old (going on 32) IT project manager, software engineer, and system administrator as well as an honors graduate of Rutgers University. I earned two B.A. degrees in History and English with a GPA of 3.5...Dean's List...yada yada (Do you really care?!).   My software IT skills are all self-taught. (All you have to do is READ and TRY.) You don't need to go to MIT: You just need a library card and determination. No MIT graduate would have the cojones to work where I've worked, and, trust me, the suit-and-tie geeks wouldn't survive. If you don't TRULY understand the words of the song you are listening to ("Across 110th Street") then trust me, you couldn't have worked where I have worked throughout my career: In between the politics, I sometimes got to be an IT person.

I am currently MARRIED to my wonderful Queen, Maya. She is my best friend, mentally sharp, and the love of my life and happens to be a tall and sexy Jamaican woman from NYC who can DRESS her ass off. We are loving guardians of a funny-looking Shih Tzu I fondly refer to as "Puggie." She also lets me use my PlayStation 3 and watch sports in peace (so long as I don't get ridiculous with it). :-) Her cooking: Good enough to bring tears to my eyes.

Some people may have seen me around on the 'net as PhrozenSmoke on BlackPlanet, PhrozenSmoke on Yahoo!, and Whip1472 on AOL/AIM (AOL was many years ago!).

And before you ask...YES I AM!!! I'm Queer with a capital
Capital Q!
(AHEM!) The "L Word." (Senseless media "plug" inserted for stupidity's sake). My LGB "community" would likely call me a "stud" or whatever the catch phrase of the day is (Translation for straight folks: Stud=aggressive/tomboy). I'm ALL about the ladies. I'm very proud of who I am. I'm not a "man hater" and can get along well with almost any guy that understands and respects the words "just friends."

My sign?...a very proud, ROARING LEO.

My real name is Erica, but I prefer to go by CJ or Li'L CJ...short for CyLiKoN JeZuZ. I also go by the nickname Whip.   I love to listen to just about any kind of music...but my favorites are Latin, Hip Hop, House, Jazz, Blues, and Rhythm and Blues.

My DISLIKES INCLUDE: People who think the world owes them something, People who "want it all" but won't work for it (crooks), Sex offenders/rapists/pedophiles/child abusers (Fruity!), Women who "gold-dig" (Get a job!), Men who will approach a WOMAN in the streets and ask for money (Disgrace!), Teenagers/kids cursing in public (Bad parenting!), Parents blaming TV/Video Games/Music for their kids' poor behavior instead of just admitting they suck as parents, Parents who don't pay their child support, Women who receive child support but use it to get their hair and nails done, People who think paying "child support" is the same as being a "parent", People who start to look for their checkbook only after the cashier has told them the total owed, People who will talk on the cell phone while driving and feel a call is more important than a human life, and watching my tax money go to waste every fiscal year.

My interests also include computers (of course!) as well as just having fun and playing video games.  I'm an IT "geek" specializing in Linux/Unix, Project Management, risk mitigation, system security, Java, databases, PHP, Python, etc. I particularly enjoy performing IT work for law enforcement, public safety, and national defense agencies. So far, I've written software for U.S. Customs and Border Protection as well as the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department. I've worked for the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department on TWO occassions: The last time involving me heading up a team responsible for deploying/managing 945 Mobile Data Computing terminals (MDTs). Having been raised by a police officer, I have nothing but respect for the sacrifices law enforcement personnel make for us each day. I also understand the true meaning of the phrase..."Sometimes there's Justice, sometimes there's Just Us."
