IceWM Control Panel: GtkPCCard
ONE OF IceWMCP's NEW TOOLS! GtkPCCard is a handy PC Card (PCMCIA) manager, written in Python. It is a Gtk-based re-write of the old tkPCCard program (which used Tk/Tkinter). GtkPCCard is the new, official PC Card manager program for IceWM Control Panel. As of version 2.0 of IceWM Control Panel, the old Tkinter-based tkPCCard is no longer supported, and all new work will be done on the new GtkPCCard. This tool allows you to suspend and safely eject PC CARDS, as well as view detailed information about the cards and their status in a graphical environment. It is useful for laptops and other computers supporting PC CARDS. This program is a frontend for the 'cardctl' program, so the 'cardctl' is required and must be on your PATH.

HELP: IceWM Control Panel (IceWMCP) GtkPCCard
The IceWM Control Panel (IceWMCP) GtkPCCard tool helps you manage PCMCIA cards . PCMCIA cards, or PC Cards, are generally found on laptop computers, but exist on many other computers as well . To use GtkPCCard, you MUST have the 'cardctl' program on your system's $PATH . The 'cardctl' program is part of the 'pcmcia-cs' package, which can be found on http://pcmcia-cs.sourceforge.net and http://speakeasy.rpmfind.net . GtkPCCard will not be able to do anything useful without 'cardctl' . In fact, GtkPCCard will not be able to display any of your PC Cards without 'cardctl' . In addition, you generally have to be 'root' to do anything with GtkPCCard beyond simply displaying available PC Cards .
Each PC Card installed on your system is called a 'slot' , denoted by numbered, individual tabs in the GtkPCCard main window .
To eject a PC Card, select the 'slot' tab , containing the PC Card you wish to eject . Then, click the Eject button .
To insert a PC Card, select the 'slot' tab , containing the PC Card you wish to insert . Then, click the Insert button .
To reset a PC Card, select the 'slot' tab , containing the PC Card you wish to reset . Then, click the Reset button .
